WooCommerce 3.2 will be published in the WordPress plugin directory today!
The new update - as usual - will bring us some bug fixes and functional changes. Although, as the WooCommerce team admits, there are no breaking changes. New features should exist in a backwards-compatible manner, and updating from 3.1 or 3.0 should be free of hassle.
However, before upgrading, it's a good idea to check other plugins compatibility with WooCommerce. We've already prepared our plugins and you can find a list of those that need upgrading at the bottom of the article.
There are actually many of new features include version 3.2, but in our opinion the 4 listed below are the most important.
Managing coupons from orders
The first significant change in 3.2 is the ability for the shop manager to apply coupons for orders that have already been placed.
Better enhanced select boxes
The second change - SelectWoo is replacing the Select2 javascript library. The change was made to provide better readability of select boxes. We can experience this modification selecting a country in checkbox or in the admin page.
Pre-upgrade version check
WooCommerce adds support for other plugins to determine which version of WooCommerce a plugin is tested up to.
Before future upgrades WooCommerce will check these versions and display either an inline warning, or modal window warning (for major updates) to warn the user.
Error log by WooCommerce
The last of the most important features is the ability to catch errors and save them in logs, in the WooCommerce status page. We hope you will not have to fix bugs in your stores, but if that's the case, this functionality can help you find the source of the problem.
WP Desk plugins
Some of our plugins need upgrading to be fully compatible with the new version of Woocommerce 3.2. Please update them before upgrading WooCommerce to the latest version.
