By default, you may use global or product-specific attributes. But WooCommerce lacks a way to customize the attributes field type or let customers customize products based on available product features.

Product attributes & custom attributes in WooCommerce
By default, you may use standard WooCommerce product attributes (global or product-based).
You can set global attributes in the Products → Attributes. They will be available later for all WooCommerce products. Of course, you can also add a product-specific attribute while editing the product in the Product data section → Attributes → by adding a Custom product attribute.
But, the default WooCommerce way of adding attributes may not be enough for you. The product attributes will appear only in the Additional Information section on the WooCommerce product page.

The Flexible Product Fields panel is now modern and simple-to-use settings based on ReactJS. It is an efficient and declarative JavaScript library used for building composite user interfaces. ReactJS allows the developer to create UIs using isolated and small pieces of code - known as components. This makes it possible to add new attributes, options, and features without laborious rewriting of existing code.

All in all, the refreshed panel with group settings appears now in a new window. It contains the same options as the previous version. But the field settings will be tabbed to make it easier to add new options.
The old field cards were overloaded with settings and information. Adding more would make it more difficult to navigate around the panel.
But the most visible change will of course be the clean and modern design. We hope the changes will be well received! 😊
