Today you will see how to import affiliate, and external products to your WooCommmerce store. I will be using the Dropshipping XML WooCommerce plugin that allows you to import simple, variable and affiliate products to WooCommerce. I will also tell you how to create your affiliate store in WooCommerce to generate additional income!
What are & how to import affiliate products to WooCommerce?
The affiliate (external) products are visible in your store as the rest of your products (simple/ variable). The difference between them is that the purchase takes place after redirection from your affiliate store. Meaning, directly on the website of the actual seller of the products.
Perhaps you want to add affiliate products to expand your offer in your store. Because you want your customers to reach more products faster & easier. Although you will not sell them yourself, usually by referring to another store, you will receive a commission for "bringing" customers.
Affiliate products can therefore be a great way to find additional income. The partner store, on the other hand, receives the opportunity for more sales and reach to new customers. If you're interested in the merchant point of view, see how to create XML product feeds in WooCommerce and bill your affiliates.
As you can see, adding products manually is simple but time-consuming. If you want to import products faster, use the Dropshipping XML WooCommerce PRO plugin.

When should you consider importing affiliate products in WooCommerce?
First. When the number of products is large. By default, in WooCommerce, you can import in 3 ways. If you want to know the first 2 (free), check the article on bulk import of products in WooCommerce.
Second. When the wholesaler or the external store provides you with an XML or CSV file (product feed). It is great if the file contains links to the products as they will be needed for the creation of affiliate products. You will see the process below.
How do I import affiliate products and update them in WooCommerce?
Use the Dropshipping XML WooCommerce plugin. It will allow you to import simple, variable, and affiliate products to your store. Thanks to the product fields mapping and the import settings, you can easily define what data from the product feed should be imported & updated. When importing affiliate products, you also set an URL (link) to the product and the button text.
You can choose to import and update products from the warehouse (or store) automatically (by choosing the days and hours). You can also import more XML or CSV files at the same time!
Thanks to the conditional logic features, you will set the conditions for importing only those products that meet your conditions (e.g. prices, categories, stock status, with a photo, etc.). The plugin will therefore give you full control & flexibility.
Watch the video below to see the plugin's functionalities and import settings. For more information, visit the plugin documentation.
