Flexible Subscriptions Stock Management is an add-on for Flexible Subscriptions. It helps prevent subscription renewals when the products included in a subscription do not have enough stock.
After enabling the plugin in Flexible Subscriptions → Settings → Stock Rules, you can set a low stock threshold. During renewal, the plugin checks the stock of each subscription product. If completing the renewal would leave the product stock below the configured threshold, the renewal is stopped and the subscription is changed to On hold.
The plugin is useful when you sell physical products as subscriptions and want to avoid renewing orders that cannot be fulfilled. It can help store admins react before stock problems affect customers, especially for products with limited inventory, recurring deliveries, or subscription boxes.
- Stock-based renewal control - stop subscription renewals when product stock is not sufficient.
- Low stock threshold - define the minimum stock level that should remain after a renewal.
- Automatic subscription status update - move affected subscriptions to On hold.
- Customer email notification - inform the customer that the renewal could not continue because of insufficient stock.
- Admin email notification - notify the store administrator and list the products that caused the renewal to stop.
- WooCommerce stock management support - the check applies to products with stock management enabled.
Getting Started
After installing and activating the plugin, navigate to Flexible Subscriptions → Settings → Stock Rules tab.
Settings
- Suspend subscriptions based on product stock - enable this option to check product stock during subscription renewal.
- Low stock threshold - enter the minimum stock level that should remain after the renewal. If the product stock minus the subscription quantity is lower than this value, the renewal will be stopped and the subscription will be changed to On hold.
- Email customer - send an automatic email to the customer when their subscription is put on hold due to insufficient stock.
- Email admin - send an automatic email to the store administrator when a subscription is put on hold due to insufficient stock. The email includes the affected products.
