The current global SARS-Cov-2 threat is leaving an imprint on the economic situation of many companies. Fortunately, at WP Desk we do our best to keep the business on track.
WP Desk situation
We run our business online, so the negative impact of the pandemic did not affect us as much. We keep processing the new orders and are dealing with ongoing apps the same way as before. We have just finished recruiting our new customer support team member and started one more search for PHP Developer this time. We are constantly working on the plugins' development including improvements for the already existing ones and launching the new projects as well.
Of course, we are not completely cut off from what's going on. We are up to date with the latest reports, recommendations and are monitoring how the situation is changing.
Events and meetings
As you probably remember, the day before the it all began, we were about to have our first company gathering this year. However, due to the safety of our families and friends, we decided to cancel it which turned out to be the right decision. We hope that the situation will be handled flawlessly and soon we will have the opportunity to meet again.
We rescheduled all the external meetings and postponed all the scheduled courses and events we were going to take part in.
Our health and safety is of the utmost importance for us. We are cautious and comply with all the government recommendations. We are staying at home to minimise the potential risk. Sometimes it is not so easy, since most of us have children who do not attend to schools, kindergardens and nurseries. Some of you probably are fully aware that it might be quite challenging!
Some of us got stucked away from their own homes and from their loved ones. We try to support each other, be for them and help them in this time.
Home quarantine has made our Slack's chitchat channel so lively and pretty much occupied! We talk a lot, exchange opinions, pieces of advice, news from our homes and these coming from the world.
We have organized the online games competition! Our team also got together on the Zoom meet up in the evening to integrate when the work was already done! Of course it was completely remote - everyone staying behind their own desks! :)
Our work model passed the test unanimously. We didn't have to make any changes in the way the company's functioning since we've been working completely remotely for a long time. We do not have a physical office and do not see each other every day.
Our work during coronavirus times has not been disturbed, but we realize that not everyone is in a such comfortable situation.
